Product details
RC300 Series
MOTTA RC300 is formulated with highly refined naphthenic mineral base oils for industrial refrigeration-compressor lubrication. Available in ISO VG 32 and 68, it combines low-temperature fluidity with lubricity and chemical and thermal-oxidation stability to protect cylinders, bearings and other moving components.
Low-wax base-oil characteristics and controlled deposit formation help keep refrigeration circuits and evaporator passages clean. By preserving lubricant circulation and clean heat-transfer surfaces, RC300 reduces the maintenance burden associated with fouling in food-freezing, cold-storage and marine refrigeration service.
Performance and Benefits
Low-temperature circulation
Low-temperature fluidity and naphthenic base-oil characteristics promote lubricant movement through the refrigeration circuit, serving compressor start-up and oil circulation in cold service.
Clean passages and heat transfer
Low wax content and resistance to deposit formation keep evaporator passages and lubricated areas cleaner, preserving heat transfer and reducing cleaning-related maintenance and downtime.
Protection of loaded components
Lubricity and the selected viscosity maintain an oil film on cylinders, bearings and other moving parts, limiting wear in the compressor's working cycle.
Stable oil condition in service
Chemical and thermal-oxidation stability resist oil deterioration and sludge formation, maintaining the cleanliness and lubricating performance needed for sustained refrigeration operation.
Principal Applications
- Large industrial reciprocating and rotary refrigeration compressors using ammonia as the principal refrigerant.
- Food-freezing plants, refrigerated storage and marine refrigeration equipment with matching mineral-oil lubrication requirements.
- Selected halocarbon refrigeration systems where the compressor, refrigerant and sealing materials are compatible with this oil type.
Select ISO VG 32 or 68 for the compressor's specified viscosity and operating conditions. Ammonia is the principal application; halocarbon service requires the corresponding equipment and refrigerant compatibility.

RC500 Series
MOTTA RC500 is a range of full-synthetic polyol ester (POE) refrigeration-compressor oils, available in seven grades from ISO VG 15 to 220. The range serves HFC and carbon-dioxide (R744) systems through the corresponding product and viscosity selection for the refrigerant and compressor design.
The wax-free POE formulation combines refrigerant miscibility for oil return with lubricity and wear protection for loaded moving components. Chemical, thermal and hydrolytic stability maintain lubricant integrity through refrigeration temperature cycles, serving domestic appliances, commercial air conditioning, cold-chain transport and industrial food-processing refrigeration.
Performance and Benefits
Refrigerant miscibility and oil return
The miscibility characteristics of the correctly matched product help oil circulate with the refrigerant and return to the compressor, maintaining the lubricant supply required by the system.
Lubrication and wear protection
The POE formulation and selected viscosity provide lubricity for bearings and moving components, reducing wear under the loading and temperature cycles of refrigeration service.
Chemical and thermal stability
Resistance to degradation maintains oil condition as the lubricant moves between hot compressor areas and the cold refrigeration circuit, limiting deterioration and deposit-related maintenance.
Hydrolytic stability and oil integrity
Hydrolytic stability complements the formulation's chemical resistance in moisture-sensitive refrigeration service. Clean, dry handling and tightly closed containers preserve this performance during filling and storage.
Principal Applications
- Domestic refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioning equipment and heat pumps using an HFC refrigerant matched to the specified RC500 product and grade.
- Commercial air-conditioning and refrigeration installations, refrigerated transport and food-processing refrigeration equipment.
- Carbon-dioxide (R744) refrigeration compressors using the corresponding RC500 product and viscosity grade.
Match the exact product and viscosity to the refrigerant, compressor design and sealing materials. HFC and R744 applications use their corresponding selection; a shared ISO VG does not by itself establish interchangeability.
