- Cooling water and scale contamination
Anti-wear hydraulic oils and gear oils in the range carry strong demulsibility so water ingress separates out instead of emulsifying the oil. - Sustained high temperature
Circulating and bearing oils are selected for oxidation stability so hot bearings (blast-furnace fans, mill bearings) don't vanish into sludge on a short cycle. - Heavy shock and impact loading
EP gear oils and open-gear compounds hold film under the shock loads of coilers, rolling stands and charging equipment. - Fire risk near hot metal
MOTTA F3000 is a water-glycol fire-resistant hydraulic fluid for hydraulic circuits close to furnace doors, oxygen-lance controls and ladle-tilting systems.
Cold-mill coiler gearboxes — steelPrecision cold-rolling strip mills using FROHLING coiler stands carry an ISO VG 320 industrial gear oil in the left and right coiler gearboxes. MOTTA L500 320 is the corresponding grade in this series for that gearbox duty.
